OFFICE OF CANNABIS POLICY
In Maine, opt-in and a license are two different facts
Maine · opt-in, OCP, medical · 2026-10-28
A town can allow adult-use retail and still have no store. A store license is the row that belongs on a town page.
What OCP says
OCP's adult-use opt-in page says the list is compiled from several sources, that the office cannot guarantee it, and that readers should report corrections. It also says an opt-in for an activity does not mean a licensee is operating there. The licensee search is the place to see active stores.
Town pages list Active adult-use store licenses from the July 1, 2026 establishments file and Active medical dispensary licenses from the June 1, 2026 file.
Why that matters for an ATM
Do not plan a machine around an opt-in headline. Plan it around the license town and the room. Maine is outside the full-service region, so the conversation we will have is about ownership unless the published region changes.
Confirm the ordinance with the town. Confirm the license with OCP. Then call us about the ATM.
Questions from dispensary operators
Why might a well-known Maine town have no dispensary page?
The town pages list places on the Office of Cannabis Policy license files. A town without a page may still allow cannabis. Check the county page and confirm the ordinance with the municipality.
