THE DISPENSARY ATM PLANNING GUIDE

A little planning. A better fit from day one.

Use these questions to prepare for an ATM conversation, whether you are opening a dispensary or adding cash access to an existing store.

01 / Decide which responsibilities to keep

Start with the service program. Full-service placement provides the machine, cash, monitoring, and maintenance for qualifying locations, with surcharge revenue shared under agreed terms. Ownership lets you purchase the ATM and set the surcharge, but cash loading, processing, and operating costs need a separate discussion. Compare the complete arrangement, not just the equipment price.

02 / Walk through the customer journey

Consider where customers first realize they need cash, how they will find the ATM, and where a short queue might form. Review the path from the entrance and checkout. The location should be considered alongside customer access, store operations, and service access; a photograph alone cannot establish suitability.

03 / Prepare the installation questions

Share the floor plan or photographs of the proposed area. Ask which requirements apply to the specific machine before changing the space.

  • Floor-standing or wall-mounted format
  • Available space and customer approach
  • Power and connection requirements
  • Mounting or installation work
  • Access for loading cash and maintaining the unit

04 / Confirm the details before agreeing

Ask who supplies and loads the cash, how monitoring works, what maintenance is included, and how surcharge revenue and costs are handled. Confirm the proposed equipment and any contactless capabilities separately. Tap-enabled withdrawals require compatible hardware, software, processor support, and supported cards or wallets. Agree the installation scope and next steps with the team.

Ready for the first conversation?

Have your city and state, number of stores, preferred program, and a description of the available space ready. The contact page includes a simple call planner to organize your thoughts. It stays in your browser and does not submit a request; call or email the team when you are ready to discuss your location.

A few common questions.

Do I need to know the exact machine before calling?

No. Start with the store layout, expected cash demand, and the responsibilities you want the service program to cover. Equipment can be discussed during the review.

How soon can an ATM be installed?

Timing depends on the location review, selected equipment, agreed scope, and installation arrangements. Ask for the timeline for your specific location rather than relying on a general estimate.
