North Jersey dispensaries need an ATM plan that fits the block

New Jersey · North Jersey, Essex, Hudson, cannabis ATM · 2026-10-28

North Jersey is dense, and the dispensary streets do not match. A Jersey City corner, a Newark avenue, and a Union Township lot on Route 22 are three different machines-in-a-room problems.

Where the clear licenses clustered

In the October 28, 2026 review of the CRC permit table, Jersey City had the longest list of clear retailer rows in the state. Hoboken, North Bergen, Harrison, and West New York had their own lists. Newark, Bloomfield, Irvington, and West Orange led Essex. Elizabeth and Plainfield led Union. Paterson had a shorter clear list than West Milford, which is a reminder that a permit table is not a population map.

Bergen's licensed towns on these pages include Fort Lee, Garfield, Elmwood Park, and Maywood. Paramus and Hackensack are the county's big retail centers. Read the county page for the towns that have their own dispensary lists.

Sales share is not foot traffic at your door

On the July 16, 2026 slides, uncertified June 2026 sales shares were 7.10% in Bergen, 5.49% in Essex, 5.16% in Union, 5.07% in Hudson, and 4.30% in Passaic. Those shares can help you see the region. They do not rank your block.

Full-service placement in this region still depends on the location review. The offer, for a qualifying dispensary, is the machine, the cash, monitoring, and maintenance, with surcharge sharing agreed up front. Ownership is the other path when you set the surcharge yourself.
